The first three plagues that God sent upon Egypt were a smackdown of “the gods of the water – the Gods of the almighty Nile River.” It boggles the mind how human beings, who are made in the image of God, can think so little of Him and themselves, as to degrade themselves in worshipping that which is created rather than the Creator, Himself! But let’s not forget, we have a very real spiritual enemy, the Devil. He deceives us into believing that God is somehow holding out on us and that we are far better off calling the shots ourselves.
